2021 Volunteer Spotlight

With great love and appreciation,

thank you to all of those who have supported our mission in 2021

All of our supporters are appreciated and help keep us the the community members we work with in the field fighting the good fight. However those that have set aside time to spend the time, blood, sweat, and tears to help support our cause through different fundraisers could not be thanked enough for their effort and dedication.

Our good friend, Brittnei Miller, is a passionate advocate of wildlife conservation, and she’s joining us in a race of her own – the North American Championship Spartan race – where she will raise funds for Soldiers for Wildlife. Brittnei is training hard for this event, and fighting equally hard for our cause.

Where will your donations to Brittnei’s Race Against Extinction fundraiser go?

Soldiers for Wildlife is aiming to raise $5,000 to bring on a very special new anti-poaching team member: Ocho. Ocho is a German Short-Haired Pointer, who has almost completed his intensive anti-poaching training and is ready for deployment. Ocho’s job is to protect rhino in Southern Africa that are under threat and extremely sought after by poachers for their horns.

What makes dogs like Ocho so important to anti-poaching work?

Ocho is being trained as a ‘man-tracking dog’. Dogs can track humans far faster than any human, by using their keen sense of smell leading to more successful detection and detainment of poachers seeking their prize.

With the Support of Pizetta's in Mystic Connecticut, Kaitlyn Quirke, one of our resident Animal Caretakers out of the Mystic Aquarium, has been hosting fundraisers to teach people about the cause. Not Only has she helped info people about the importance of anti-poaching & sub saharan wildlife conservation, but she was even able to raise funds to support our ranger teams in Zambia & South Africa.

Every dollar donated, and every minute spent fundraising directly impacts our efforts on the front lines of anti poaching and conservation in Africa.

YOU can help lives too #BeAGameChanger

With Love & Care,

Soldiers For Wildlife Team
